We, EUROPLANT Pflanzenzucht GmbH, breed, multiply and distribute high-quality potato varieties that enable the agriculture of tomorrow through their combination of resistance, resilience, and efficiency.
For over a 125 years, we have been serving the potato industry. We constantly work on improving our varieties. The growing and constantly changing requirements from politics, climate, agriculture, trade and industry are challenges and motivation for our daily activities.

EUROPLANT VARIETIES
A diverse range
Our EUROPLANT varieties are classically bred. We only use conventional breeding methods, which means that we don't use any genetically modified crossing partners.
For many years now, the improvement of naturalRESISTANCE to potato diseases and pests,the strengthening RESILIENCE towards environmental factors and an increase in cultivation EFFICIENCY combined with strong varietal characteristics have been at the top in all our potato variety development work.
Our range comprises over 100 varieties for table, processing and starch production. Around 1/3 of our varieties are suitable for organic cultivation. In fact, we are one of the largest suppliers of organic seed potatoes in Europe.
The combined traits of each variety make them unique and distinct due to their exceptional quality. We are able to supply the right varieties to meet the wide-ranging needs of our customers regarding their usage and cultivation conditions.

Top quality seed potatoes
High yields depend on high-quality seed stock. The quality of our seed potatoes is a result of our integrated production system. From in vitro-culture and the production of mini-tubers and pre-basic seed potatoes, to a large number of experienced contract farmers, we control the quality of our production.
We are a reliable a cooperation partner, which advises and supports its multipliers comprehensively to guarantee successful potato production and marketing. Because of our own pre-basic seed potato production facilities, we know about the needs of potato multipliers and farmers.
An important aspect of our competence is the production of seeds for organic farming. We offer a wide range of resistant and superb varieties guaranteeing our EUROPLANT quality. We have been working hand in hand with our organic multiplier partners since day one and have many years of experience.

Cultivation advice for maximum yields
We assist our customers by offering reliably and technically tailored cultivation advice to their location. From variety selection to harvest, storage and marketing, our experts provide valuable support. Field inspections at our customers form the basis for a tailor-made variety recommendation.
Our experience and the expertise of our EUROPLANT cultivation consultants assist numerous agricultural companies in Germany and far beyond the national borders.
Since 2004, we act as registered coordinators in the QS- and GLOBAL G.A.P.-System and provide our customers with advice on fulfilling the criteria.
For certification according to the EC-Eco-Regulation, EUROPLANT is subject to the Eco-Control Authority DE-ÖKO-006.
We are member in the most important German and European associations of the potato industry. For example: Federal Association of German Plant Breeders (BDP), UNIKA, German Potato Trade Association (DKHV),Euroseeds (ex ESA), German Agricultural Society (DLG) and regional seed producer organizations.

PotatoEurope
Lueneburg, June 2026 | After four years, PotatoEurope is returning to Germany as part of its regular rotation! On September 9 and 10, 2026, Rittergut Gestorf near Hanover will once again become the international meeting place for the potato industry.
Visitors can look forward to a comprehensive insight into the latest technologies, innovations, and future trends in potato production. Highlights include state-of-the-art agricultural machinery and live field demonstrations, as well as the latest developments in crop production and plant cultivation. The event also provides an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas with industry experts from around the world.
